Butn has launched Moneybox, a digital private credit investment platform designed for eligible retail investors in Australia.
The platform offers access to investment opportunities backed by SME lending.
The launch represents a strategic expansion for Butn, a company traditionally known for providing transactional business funding.
Moneybox establishes a standalone investment pathway that allows retail capital to enter the Australian SME lending market. It draws on Butn’s origination and underwriting infrastructure.
Since its inception, Butn has deployed more than A$2.5 billion in funding to Australian businesses.
Butn will distribute the capital raised through the new platform across a diversified portfolio of loans spanning multiple industries.

“Private credit has traditionally been more accessible to institutional and wholesale investors,”
said Rael Ross, CEO and Founder of Butn and Moneybox.
“With Moneybox, we are opening access through a digital experience designed to make the category easier to understand and engage with, while maintaining a strong focus on clear reporting and risk awareness.”
The core opportunities investment option targets a return of the Reserve Bank of Australia official cash rate plus 3.00% per annum, calculated after fees and expenses but before tax.
Based on current central bank rates, the platform targets a yield of 7.35%, though the company does not guarantee this return.
Moneybox requires a minimum initial investment of A$5,000 and enforces a 12-month minimum holding period.
Distributions are paid quarterly in arrears and remain subject to fund performance.
The platform forms part of the broader strategy of Butn to diversify its capital sources and scale its underlying lending technology capabilities.
