Airwallex has appointed James Teodorini as Head of its Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) operations.
Teodorini brings extensive experience in payments, foreign exchange and fintech across the ANZ region.
He has previously held roles with Currencycloud, Visa Direct and Thunes while based in Singapore.
In his new role, Teodorini will lead Airwallex’s operations in Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland. He will oversee the company’s growth and development in its home market.
Airwallex, founded in Melbourne, recently marked its tenth anniversary.
The company reached over US$1 billion in annual recurring revenue. It also completed a Series G funding round at an US$8 billion valuation.
Teodorini said in a LinkedIn post:
“The opportunity in ANZ is significant. I have worked closely with the ANZ team over the past month and am impressed by the calibre, culture and ambition across the group. I look forward to supporting the team in delivering the business’s objectives in the region.”
